[Photo by Wang Jing/China Daily] Yunnan province reported six locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and three asymptomatic infections on Tuesday, provincial health authorities announced on Wednesday. Ruili city in the province has launched citywide nucleic acid testing since 8 am Tuesday to cover its entire population.The city also stopped outbound and inbound travel starting from 10 pm Tuesday. One of the confirmed cases and all three asymptomatic cases are Burmese nationals, the others are Chinese. All nine patients were transferred to the designated medical institution in Ruili city for medical treatment and observation, according to the Yunnan Health Commission. On Monday, one person was found to test positive during routine nucleic acid testing for key populations in Ruili. Through the test for key populations and the first person's close contacts, eight others were found to be positive. On Tuesday, six were diagnosed as confirmed cases and three asymptomatic carriers. According to the National Health Commission, the Chinese mainland reported 11 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with 5 imported and 6 locally transmitted.
